Fashion & Bridal Makeup Course

Get started in a makeup career in the fashion and bridal makeup area. Learn the secrets to flawless makeup application, creating high fashion make-up looks and getting started in the industry.

You will learn how to create up to the minute fashion makeup looks by understanding how to interpret fashion trends and develop your creative ideas into a fashion focussed makeup look.

Basic hair styling techniques are covered to give you the ability to offer clients the total package. You will learn how to style popular bridal up-do's, straightening, curling and teasing to create a variety of hair styles.

Towards the end of the course, you will complete a photoshoot with a professional photographer, giving you photos to start off your professional makeup portfolio.

The Course Covers

1. Introduction to the industry. Tools of the Trade: makeup products and brushes. Colour Theory.
2. Skin types, hygiene, facial contouring and correcting.
3. Eye shapes, eye makeup design and applying false eyelashes.
4. Bridal Makeup Looks. Dealing with the client.
5. Fashion Makeup - researching trends, designing makeup looks for fashion.
6. Basic hair styling for Bridal.
7. Getting creative - fashion Makeup practise and experimentation.
8. Fashion hair styling techniques.
9. Makeup for Photography - understanding the effects of lighting and photography on makeup.
10. Makeup for the Catwalk - the backstage environment, building speed, following the brief.
11. Professional Portfolio Photoshoot
12. Business skills for make-up artists - how to get started, how to market yourself and building industry contacts.

Course Requirements

Students are recommended to bring a digital camera with them to each class.

Students will be required to bring a model to selected classes.

You will Receive

Students receive a mineral makeup kit and a brush set valued at approximately $120.

The kit includes:

• Kylie’s Professional Mineral Makeup Foundation Powder – colour matched to your skin colour.
• Mineral Makeup Compact – 6 blushes, 2 powders, 48 eye shadow colours, lip pencil, eye pencil and 12 lip colours (pictured left)
• 12 Piece Brush Set (pictured left)
• Black mascara
• Black eye pencil
• Grey eye pencil
• Lip pencil
• Colour mixing palette

Course Duration

The course runs from 9.30am - 12.30pm over 12 weeks on Sunday's.

Price

$1200 – which includes a basic makeup kit, brush set and also covers the cost a photoshoot with a professional photographer and an A4 print of your selected photo from each shoot at the end of the course.

A $200 Non-refundable course deposit required to enrol. Balance due on course commencement.
