This course forms part of the Certificate III in Beauty Services course.

Would you like to become a make-up artist? Learn professional make-up application to give you the skills to become a makeup artist. Students will have the opportunity to do make-up for fashion parades and events during the year, working with our fashion design students and also perform make-up for guest clients of all ages throughout the year.

Focusing on fashion, glamour and photographic makeup, this course guides students through the basics and onto the more advanced techniques required for work in these industries. Nearing the end of the course, students will complete a photoshoot of a makeup look of their design and will recieve a print from the shoot. Students will also have the opportunity to assist with makeup for fashion parades and other events throughout the course.

The course runs from 9.30am - 4pm over 16 weeks.

Total duration 96hrs.

Students in year 11 or 12 may undertake this course as part of the VET in schools program, to contribute towards their senior school certificate.

You will Receive

Students receive a school t-shirt and a mineral makeup kit and a brush set valued at approximately $120.

The kit includes:

  • Kylie’s Professional Mineral Makeup Foundation Powder – colour matched to your skin colour.
  • Mineral Makeup Compact – 6 blushes, 2 powders, 48 eye shadow colours, lip pencil, eye pencil and 12 lip colours
  • 12 Piece Brush Set
  • Black mascara
  • Black eye pencil
  • Grey eye pencil
  • Lip pencil
  • Colour mixing palette

Student's will also have the use of the school MAC Makeup and Mineral Makeup in class.

Student’s who wish to purchase their own professional makeup kit, should contact administration.

Qualification

Nationally Recognised TrainingStudents who successfully complete the course will receive the nationally recognised Certificate II in Make-Up Services (WRB20204) qualification.

Graduates are able to continue on to complete the Certificate III in Beauty Services, or the Diploma of Beauty Therapy courses and will be eligible for direct credit for the units completed in this course.

Course Fees cover:

  • Tuition
  • Workbooks

  • School T-Shirt
  • Photoshoot with a professional photographer (including one A4 print)
  • Use of the school’s equipment
  • Use of the school’s products for in class use.

The course fees are for a position in the course and are payable whether the student completes the course or not. Upon enrolling in the course, the student is liable to the college for the course fees in full.

To secure a position in the course, students must pay a minimum course deposit of 10% of the discounted upfront course cost.

Discounted Upfront Payment: $1800.
  • Non-Refundable Course Deposit: $200.
  • Balance due on course commencement date: $1600.
Payment Plan: $1980.
  • Non-Refundable Course Deposit: $200.
  • Balance paid in weekly installments over course duration: $1780.

Additional Costs/Required Equipment:

  • Printing & photocoping by student.
  • Basic stationary – e.g. display folder’s, pens, pencil & rubber, highlighters.
  • 1 packet of colouring pencils.
