Certificate II in Retail Make-Up and Skin Care (SIB20110)

This course was previously known as the Certificate II in Make-Up Services and has recently been updated to the latest version from the updated training package.

This course can be completed on it's own, or can be completed as part of the Certificate III in Beauty Services course.

Would you like to become a make-up artist? Learn professional make-up application to give you the skills to become a makeup artist. Students will have the opportunity to do make-up for fashion parades and events during the year, working with our fashion design students and also perform make-up for guest clients of all ages throughout the year.

Focusing on fashion, glamour and photographic makeup, this course guides students through the basics and onto the more advanced techniques required for work in these industries. Nearing the end of the course, students will complete a photoshoot of a makeup look of their design and will recieve a print from the shoot. Students will also have the opportunity to assist with makeup for fashion parades and other events throughout the course.

Course Duration

The course runs for 6hrs/day over 16 weeks.

Total duration 96hrs.

Students in year 11 or 12 may undertake this course as part of the VET in schools program, to contribute towards their senior school certificate.

 

Qualification

Nationally Recognised Training

Students who successfully complete the course will receive the nationally recognised Certificate II in Retail Make-Up and Skin Care (SIB20110) qualification.

Graduates are able to continue on to complete the Certificate III in Beauty Services, or the Diploma of Beauty Therapy courses and will be eligible for direct credit for the units completed in this course.

Alternatively students may be interested in completing the Diploma of Specialist Make-Up Services which goes on to cover special effects and character make-up.

Course Fees cover*:

  • Tuition

  • Basic Starter Makeup Kit
  • Photoshoot with a professional photographer (including one A4 print)
  • Use of the school's equipment
  • Use of the school's makeup products for in class use.

* Products provided may change at any time without notice due to availability. Make-up products provided are only basic products provided in order for the student to practice in class.

Price:

The course fees are for a position in the course and are payable whether the student completes the course or not. Upon enrolling in the course, the student (and guarantor/s) becomes liable to the institute for the full course fees.

To secure a position in the course, student's must pay a minimum non-refundable course deposit of 10% of the 'Discounted Upfront Payment Price' (listed below).

  • Non-Refundable Course Deposit: $200.00
  • Balance Due on Course Commencement Date: $1,600.00
Full Course Cost (Payment Plan): $1,980.00

  • Balance paid in weekly direct debit installments (with Ezypay) over course duration: $1,780.00

Additional Costs/Required Equipment:

  • Printing & photocoping by student.
  • Basic stationary – e.g. display folders (a scrapbook or portfolio folder is advantageous), pens, pencil & rubber, highlighters.
  • 1 packet of colouring pencils.
  • A digital camera is advantageous (as you will want to take photos of your make-up looks created in class)
  • Students may choose to purchase additional make-up products and accessories to create the desired look for their photoshoot.
